Supporting women in business

HSBC Private Banking announces partnership with female entrepreneur network, AllBright to help women in business unlock their potential.

42 per cent of women entrepreneurs say funding is one of the biggest barriers to starting a business and almost a quarter (24 percent) of female founders say that investors are less willing to invest in women according to Unilever Foundry. The partnership with UK based AllBright is part of our wider commitment to help entrepreneurs thrive. We’ll learn more about what female entrepreneurs need, provide them with expert advice and explore opportunities for existing clients who want to learn more about investing in female founded businesses. The partnership exemplifies our joint ambition in supporting diversity in business.

Commenting on the partnership, António Simões, CEO, HSBC Private Banking said “Having supported entrepreneurs throughout our 154 year history, we know how important it is for them to have access both to capital and expertise. We are proud to be partnering with the co-founders of AllBright, to help offer some of the most talented female entrepreneurs the resources they need to help grow their businesses.”

Debbie Wosskow OBE, co-founder of AllBright said "We are delighted to be partnering with HSBC Private Banking. They bring a wealth of business knowledge, global connections and decades of experience to AllBright’s Pitch Days – helping to achieve our joint ambition of supporting female entrepreneurs.”

Pitch Perfect

AllBright host monthly pitch days at their networking club in London. Female founded or (male and female) co-founded companies from all industry sectors are welcome to apply to pitch their ideas to a panel of angel investors, high net worth individuals and business leaders. Successful applicants are likely to be at MVP stage and beyond, and have secured a minimum of £150,000 in investment or revenue to date.

This year the HSBC Private Banking team will support the Pitch Days by participating in these panels and providing some of the applicants with coaching sessions to advise them on how to grow and nurture their business.
