HSBC Private Bank recognised the achievements of successful women in business, philanthropy and sports at its second edition of the Women’s Forum in Asia held at the Capella Singapore from 25-28 February 2014. The Forum hosted 39 influential women from across Asia who are involved in managing the family business and the “business of the family”. Themed ‘The hand that rocks the cradle’, the event paid tribute to the nurturing and powerful qualities of women in raising and guiding their next generation.
Hosted by Peter Boyles, CEO of Global Private Banking, HSBC Private Bank, and Amit Gupta, former CEO of Southeast Asia, Global Private Banking, HSBC Private Bank, the Forum offered attendees personal access to HSBC Private Bank’s family wealth expertise, exploring a wide spectrum of topical issues. These included market trends in areas such as protecting family wealth and businesses, philanthropy, balancing family dynamics and women’s health and psychology. The Forum also addressed the findings of a HSBC Private Bank-commissioned research piece ‘Women in Asian Family Enterprises’ written by Lansberg, Gersick and Associates.
The Forum welcomed guests with an elegant sit-down dinner at the Capella Singapore Ballroom on 25 February. Highlights of the evening included special guest appearances by four of HSBC Women’s Champions’ top female golfers - Cristie Kerr, Paula Creamer, Suzann Pettersen and Stacy Lewis – who have achieved tremendous success in what is traditionally recognised as a male-dominated sport. And in a light-hearted panel interview segment, the professional golfers shared their motivations and challenges experienced on and off the fairways.
During the four-day programme, participants also had the chance to experience offsite hospitality at Gardens by the Bay with a tour of the Flower Dome and dinner at Pollen, as well as some golf action at the HSBC Women’s Champions golf tournament.
Mr Gupta commented, “The Women’s Forum is an excellent platform for our female clients to network with each other and to inspire and empower. Through this flagship programme, HSBC Private Bank is able to demonstrate its thought leadership on topics that truly matter to our clients.”
