Our business


HSBC Private Bank is the marketing names for the private banking business conducted by the principle private banking subsidiaries of the HSBC Group worldwide. HSBC Private Bank, together with the private banking activities of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt, know collectively as Global Private Banking, provides services to high net worth individuals and their families through 96 locations in some 43 countries and territories in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and Americas, the Middle East and Africa.

Headquartered in London, HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Its international network comprises some 10,000 properties in 86 countries and territories in Europe; Hong Kong; Rest of Asia-Pacific including the Middle East and Africa; North America and Latin America.

HSBC provides a comprehensive range on financial services to more than 100 million customers through four customer groups and global business: Personal Financial Services (including consumer finance); Commercial Banking; Global Banking and Markets; and Private Banking.


Aim


  • To develop future leaders for our private banking business in the UK & Channel Islands with graduates being able to specialise in different business areas such as Relationship Management, Investments, Trusts, Operations, Finance and Credit

Target candidates


  • Must be university graduate with an outstanding academic record
  • UK – 2.1 honours degree
  • Should exhibit strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, computer literacy and up-to-date knowledge of financial markets
  • Fluency in English is required. Languages are preferred yet not essential
  • You must have the right to work in the UK on a permanent basis

Programme details


Duration
The programme will last 12 months in total and provide a wide range of experience in key areas of the business. Graduates will complete a variety of attachments / regional rotations whilst fulfilling a structured educational programme.

Training opportunities
Once the graduates are on board, they will attend an Induction programme during the first few weeks where they will understand HSBC’s approach to products, services and operations. Graduates will be exposed to valuable training to develop their technical knowledge and relationship skills.

Mentoring programme
A mentor will be appointed for each graduate to provide guidance, support and encouragement for the duration of the programme.

Performance management
Graduates will be assessed throughout the programme, to ensure that they are on track and any development needs are met.

Career progression
Potential for enhanced progression once the programme has been completed depending on strong individual performance and potential.
