The Canadian Government introduced its Immigrant Investor Programme in 1986 with a view to attracting successful business immigrants to Canada. Through a suitable, guaranteed investment in the Canadian economy, investor immigrants become eligible for permanent residence in Canada and, eventually, Canadian citizenship.

Do you qualify?
The basic requirements for qualification under this programme are:

  • Appropriate “business experience” as defined in the programme (effectively meaning that the applicant has suitable managerial experience or owns a successful business)
  • A personal net worth of at least C$800,000 (including spouse)
  • Available funds (whether personal or acquired through financing) to make the required C$400,000 investment
  • Good health and no criminal record
