Design Miami/: Campana brothers documentary

Following the renewal of its partnership with Design Miami/® in June this year, HSBC Private Bank continues to expand its involvement in the bi-annual design fair with each event.

This December, HSBC Private Bank will showcase the results of a new collaboration with the Campana brothers – winners of the prestigious Design Miami/® 2008 Designer of the Year Award. The internationally renowned Brazilian duo has been commissioned to design the HSBC Private Bank VIP lounge at Design Miami/® providing a unique place for special guests at the fair to connect.

Reflecting Fernando and HumbertoCampana's preference for mixing worlds and techniques, the lounge will incorporate elements of Native Brazilian traditions to create the atmosphere and form of an "Oca" – a traditional communal dwelling from the Amazonian forest. Humberto and Fernando Campana feel the space as a garden of golden hues, highlighted by spots of red. Following the typology of the Oca, Indians communal home, the lounge will have its walls, not covered, but made of raffia. This natural material of golden sheens conveys a sense of retreat and serenity. The seating area, grouped in niches along the walls, is an organic composition designed for the needs and particularities of the lounge space.
