Among the many highlights of the sponsorship of the 2008 Design Miami/ was the Private Bank’s VIP lounge, designed by the Brazilian duo Fernando and Humberto Campana, winners of the prestigious Design Miami/ 2008 Designer of the Year Award.

The lounge was a spectacular venue for guest hospitality throughout the fair and there was a reception and supper on 3 December for over 120 clients and guests of the US Private Bank and top HSBC executives.

In addition, for the second year, the Private Bank supported a special project with Miami’s Design and Architecture Senior High School. This contribution helped 23 students to design and produce fashion garments that are friendly to the environment. Their work is called “Project Green” and the young designers use only materials and processes that are environmentally sustainable. At the end of the Design Miami/ fair the distinctive raffia material used throughout the HSBC Private Bank lounge was donated to the school to be recycled into new works of art and design.
