HSBC Private Bank received top accolades as Best Provider of Private Banking and Wealth Management Services at the prestigious annual Private Banker International (PBI) 2012 Awards dinner, held in Singapore on 24 October 2012.
HSBC Private Bank clinched the Outstanding Private Bank – Asia Pacific (Overall) and the Outstanding Private Bank – Middle East awards and was also commended as an Outstanding Wealth Planning and Trust Provider, and Outstanding Private Bank – Latin America.
These achievements are a strong testament to our success in managing and overseeing more than USD496 billion of assets for our clients.
Nicholas Moody, editor of PBI, said that “HSBC Private Bank is one of the top international private banks in Asia, providing integrated banking, investment and wealth advisory services. The Private Wealth Solutions part of the private bank is among the largest private client trust and estate planning businesses in Asia. It is working to become the market leader in the provision of offshore Chinese renminbi products and services, such as HSBC Expat. Its group-wide strategy has seen the bank refocus on nine priority markets in Asia, more than any other region, which is an indication of where its future lies.”
Moody also praised our work in the Middle East, adding that “the judges gave a clear signal in their voting that HSBC was their favourite, and that the world’s seventh-largest private bank by assets is a recognised leader in the Middle East. It operates seven associate offices throughout the region... HSBC has also worked to use the east-to-east axis, with its ultra high net worth clients, with Middle East and North Africa Private Bank at its heart. In 2012, the bank arranged several major investments flowing both ways, in an area stretching from the southern tip of Europe through Turkey to the Gulf.”
HSBC Private Bank has since also been recognised as Best Provider of Private Banking and Wealth Management Services in the Middle East at the 2012 Global Private Banking Awards in Singapore on 8 November 2012.
