UK Private Bank to host Testino exhibition

4 October 2005

HSBC Private Bank UK is to sponsor an exhibition of iconic images of Diana, Princess of Wales, by the world famous photographer, Mario Testino.

Hosted at the Princess's former residence of Kensington Palace, the exhibition features photographs taken at what turned out to be the Princess's last official portrait photography sitting.
A number of the photographs first appeared in the July 1997 edition of Vanity Fair, but others are now being shown for the first time.

"Mario Testino is one of the greatest portrait photographers of our time," said Janette King, director of marketing and communications, Europe. "HSBC Private Bank is known worldwide for its support of the arts, and we are delighted to be bringing this unique cultural experience to both our clients and the public."

The portraits are being showcased alongside nine of Diana, Princess of Wales's gowns, including four worn for the photoshoot. The gowns were created by couturiers including Catherine Walker, Bruce Oldfield, Hachi and Victor Edelstein.

The exhibition runs from 24 November to Summer 2007.
