27 October 2009
HSBC Private Bank has won multiple awards in the inaugural Global Private Banking Awards awarded by the Banker and Professional Wealth Management magazines, published by the Financial Times Group. HSBC won Best Global Private Bank, Best Private Bank in Asia and Best Private Bank in the Middle East.
The awards were collected by Chris Meares, CEO, Global Private Banking at the FT Private Banking Summit in Geneva.
These awards follow HSBC Private Bank’s success earlier this month where it was awarded Outstanding Global Private Bank by Private Banker International.
Commenting on the Awards, Yuri Bender, Editor in Chief of Professional Wealth Management said:
"The judges were impressed by HSBC's strong presence across a large number of private banking markets, especially in Asia and the Middle East. Also of significance was HSBC’s ability to integrate all of its Swiss private banking operations into a single global brand and operating platform.
"The panel of judges examined criteria such as reputation and brand strength and, of particular importance was how banks communicated with their clients during the crisis."
Commenting on the awards, Chris Meares, CEO, Global Private Banking, said:
"I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of everyone in HSBC Private Bank. It is a great testament to the strength of our brand and the talents of our people around the world. Despite difficult markets we have continued to invest and in particular it is good to see recognition for our continued investment in Asia and Emerging Markets. The awards are a huge credit to HSBC’s international network and ability to open doors for clients around the world."
